These are the candidates for Homecoming king and queen at Kane Area High School. Candidates for Homecoming queen include, seated, left to right: Nikki Sicher, Audrey Perry, Gina Picarelli, Dawn Saquin, Jackie Bedford and Nerissa Rich; candidates for king include, left to right, standing: Sean Rolick, Randy Ginkel, Zach Hadfield, Sean Jordan, Gage Feronti and Chris Israel. All candidates are seniors. The Homecoming parade is scheduled tonight at 6:30 on Fraley Street followed by a bonfire on Wetmore Avenue. The Homecoming football game is Friday night versus unbeaten Elk County Catholic (ECC).

Drive 4 UR School

April Gabriel of Kane is all smiles as she prepares to take a Ford for a test drive during Saturday's "Drive 4 UR School" fundraiser. Ford Motor Company donated $20 for every person who test drove one of ten vehicles from Zook Motors to various school organizations. Organizers said the program was a big success, with a steady stream of drivers participating throughout the day.

Participants in the Pet Parade held Friday evening in Kane march down Haines Street. Most of the 40 entries in the parade were dogs. The Rev. Chad Troup, pastor of the First Church of God, and the Rev. David Pflieger, chaplain at the Lutheran Home at Kane, served as judges for the parade.

Parents and their children marched Friday in the Pet Parade in Kane. The parade formed at SMP Pharmacy at Haines and Fraley streets and traveled down the Haines Street hill to the St. Callistus Catholic Church parking lot.
