Gary Meckley Scholarship

Savannah Anderson was named the winner of the Gary Meckley Scholarship at Wednesday's Kane All Sports Boosters Award Ceremony. The Kane senior was a standout for the Lady Wolves in cross country and track and field. Anderson tied the Kane girls' all-time record for pole vault at the state meet, jumping 10'0" to place eighth, the Lady Wolves' first ever medal in the event.

Kane High's Emily Truden won a number of awards at Wednesday's Kane All Sports Boosters Award Ceremony. The senior, known as "Smiley," was awarded one of three Scholar Athlete Awards and also took home the Amy Rudolph Award and the Dick and June Hill Memorial Scholarship.

Mike Carey Memorial Award

Emily Hauser and Olivia Kumher, both seniors on the Kane girls' track and field team, were named the winners of the Mike Carey Memorial Award. Carey's cousin, Jim Sirianni, presented the award to the Lady Wolves' seniors.

Jim Hillman Memorial Award

Kane High senior Dillon Mattis was awarded the Jim Hillman Memorial Award at Wednesday evening's Kane All Sports Boosters Award Ceremony. Mattis, a kicker on the Wolves' football team, was presented the award by Jim Hillman, the son of the longtime Kane football trainer whom the award was named after. Mattis also was one of the recipients of the Scholar Athlete Award, along with Emily Truden and Tyler Blankenship.

Dick and June Hill Memorial Scholarship

Trace Gordon was named the recipient of the Dick and June Hill Memorial Scholarship at Wednesday evening's Kane All Sports Boosters Award Ceremony. The award is given to a senior on the Wolves' baseball team and a senior on the Wolves' softball team in memory of the Kane couple, who were avid supporters of the sports.

Dan Beckwith Memorial Award

Taylor Morgan, a standout on the Kane girls' basketball and volleyball teams, was named the winner of the Dan Beckwith Memorial Award at Wednesday evening's Kane All Sports Boosters Club Award Ceremony. Kane High alumni and former multi-sport standout for the Wolves, Royce Novosel Johnson presented the award on behalf of the Don Raabe Big 30 Charity Classic committee, who funds the annual scholarship to a Kane High senior. Morgan also took home the trophy for Outstanding Female Athlete.

Jack and Judy Barner Memorial Award

Craig Novosel Memorial Award

Jack Kocjancic was named the winner of the Craig Novosel Memorial Award at Wednesday evening's Kane All Sports Boosters Award Ceremony. The award was presented by Royce Novosel Johnson, Craig Novosel's nephew, who announced that Kocjancic will be the final recipient of the plaque and scholarship. The trustees of the fund have decided to donate the remaining funds, approximately $16,000, to purchase equipment for the weight room to benefit all Kane High athletes.

Jim Sirianni, second from the left, was inducted into the Kane All Sports Boosters Hall of Fame at Wednesday night's awards ceremony. After being introduced by Tom Cecchetti, a fellow Hall of Fame inductee and Kane track and field coach, Tricia (Kocjancic) Bell, Mark Sirianni and Mary Gausman spoke of coach Sirianni's influence on their lives. Jim Sirianni has taught and coached in the Kane School District since 1977.

Coach of the Year

Todd Silfies of the Kane Wolves football team was named Kane High's Coach of the Year. The Wolves' head man led his team to the second District 9 title in school history. Silfies was selected by a vote of all Kane High varsity coaches.
