Kane Area High School's Josh Kibbie waves to his family and friends prior to the kickoff of the 2012 PSFCA East/West All Star Football game held at Gateway High School in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. The east squad has the advantage for wins, having won seven of the ten all-star games. In a turnover plagued first quarter the east jumped out to an early  10-0 lead with 7:29 to go but the west was able to score and cut the lead to 10-7 after the first quarter.

Jacob Edinger gets first gobbler

Jacob Edinger, age 6, shot his first spring gobbler on saturday, April 28 while hunting with his dad. Jacob's turkey had a 9 1/2" beard and weighed 21 pounds. Jacob is a first grader at the Kane Elementary School and is the son of Dan and
Janell Edinger of Kane.

Dancers to perform the Walt Disney World Resort

April 27, 2012

Twenty two dancers from Studio K in Kane have been selected by the Walt Disney World Performing Arts Division to perform a show at the Walt Disney World Resort on June 23, 2012. These dancers will be peforming seven dance numbers featuring jazz, lyrical, acrobatics and musical theatre. Studio K was invited to apply for the program and was delightlfully accepted in October of 2011.

Young hunter shows off his first turkey

Chad Greville, age 10 of Kane shot his first wild turkey while hunting with his dad on April 21. This was the first day of the mentored youth season. The turkey weighed 20 pounds and had a 10.5 inch beard.

Morgan Nicholson sets new Javelin Record

Morgan Nicholson along with Coach Rae El Johnson hold the track and field record board. Morgan set the new Kane Area High School record in the javelin Saturday, April 21 at the Kane Invitational. The old record was held by Liz Johnson from 2004 of 115' 7" while Nicholson had a throw of 116' 1".
