Big 30 All-Star team

Two members of the 2014 Kane Wolves football team have been selected to the Big 30 All-Star team (not to be confused with the Don Raabe Big 30 Classic). Linebackers Ryan Swanson and Jamie Lingenfelter are Kane's representatives on the squad.

Two Wolves are among the 18 players selected for this year's Big 30 All-Star Football team, John English and Dillon Mattis. English is a senior running back for the Wolves, while Mattis was selected for his play as Kane's kicker and punter.

Kane girls' and boys' soccer teams each had one player selected for this year's Upper Allegheny Valley Soccer League All-Star Team. Chris Cummings was chosen for the boys' team, while Tori Schleicher had the honors for the girls' team. From left to right are, Kane boys' Coach Ernie Chamberlain, Cummings, Schleicher and Kane girls' Coach Robert Mosier. Cummings and Schleicher are members of the UAVSL North All-Star squads.

Wolves part of AML All-Star team

The 2014 Kane Wolves football team is well-represented on the AML South All-Star team, with seven Wolves selected to the squad. From left to right are, front row, Tyler Rolick defensive back), Ryan Swanson (linebacker), Jake Shrubb (offensive line); back row, John English (running back), Andrew Peterson (defensive line), Jamie Lingenfelter (linebacker) and Shane Rolick (wide receiver). Kane will begin their postseason this Saturday night when they take on ECC in the first round of the District 9 A playoffs. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at St Marys' Dutch Country Stadium.

Detrick Farms donates milk to team

Jim Detrick is pictured with the 12 seniors on this year's Kane Wolves' football team before last Friday night's game. Detrick Farms has donated all of the white and chocolate milk to the team for every meal during summer two-a-days and also for each pre-game meal throughout the season for the past several years. The donation, which adds up to hundreds of gallons, is instrumental to the Wolves staying strong and healthy throughout a long season.

Leading tackler in Pennsylvania

Kane's Jamie Lingenfelter, pictured here making a tackle in the Wolves' game against Sheffield, is still the leading tackler in the state of Pennsylvania, according to MaxPreps statistics. The senior captain has 112 tackles in seven games, nine more than Nick Sully of Marian Catholic High School in Tamaqua. Lingenfelter and his teammates will try to regroup after last Friday's 7-6 loss to Curwensville and get a win against the Elk County Catholic Crusaders on Kane's Senior Recognition night.

Sarah Szymanski was the lone senior on the 2014 Kane girls' golf team. Szymanski will be honored along with seniors from the boys' golf team, cross country teams, marching band, cheerleaders and football players prior to Friday night's game with Elk County Catholic. Senior Recognition ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at Paul R Miller stadium.

These three members of the Kane boys' golf team will be honored prior to Friday night's home football game. The three, from left to right, Tyler Blankenship, Trace Gordon and Justin Westerburg, completed their season two weeks ago and will be honored, along with their parents, at Senior Recognition ceremonies. At 6 p.m., senior members of the Kane golf teams, cross country teams, cheerleaders, marching band and football team will be recognized for their achievements and dedication.

Kane's Chris Udovich has had a busy fall for the Wolves. The junior is one of the Kane boys' soccer teams top offensive players and is also competing when possible for the Wolves' cross country team. Udovich is pictured here running at last weekend's Six Flags meet in New Jersey. He finished the course in a personal best time of 18:36 in 28th place. Teammate Hunter Yasurek was Kane's top finisher in 18:19, good for 22nd.
