Lady Wolves tied with Curwensville in postponed game

The Kane Lady Wolves hosted Curwensville on Tuesday night for a scheduled doubleheader at Flickerwood Field. The Golden Tide used a three-run third inning to help propel themselves to a 7-1 victory in the first game.
Kane coach Judy Kessler’s team jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second game and led 4-2 going into the bottom of the fourth inning. The Tide took advantage of the rapidly deteriorating conditions and tied it up at 4-4 before the game was halted with two outs and two runners on base.

Kane baseball team loses heartbreaker in 7th, 9-8

Perhaps it was time for the fortunes to change for the Curwensville baseball team.
The Golden Tide had lost six one-run games coming into the contest Tuesday against Kane at Pat Santilli Field at Glenwood Park.
With an 8-3 lead going into the top of the seventh and final inning, it appeared that Kane (1-7) would defeat Curwensville (3-12) for the second time this season.
But the Tide plated six runs in their last inning at-bat and held off a Kane threat in the bottom of the seventh for a rare close win, 9-8.

Johnsonburg baseball edges Kane, 5-2

WILCOX – Johnsonburg baseball defeated Kane for the third time in five days as the Rams defeated the Wolves 5-2 Monday afternoon at Jones Township Community Park in Wilcox.

Kane boys track wins West Central Coaches Championship

The Kane boys track team won the 66th Annual Altoona West Central Coaches Championship Meet this past Friday in Altoona.
They did it in dramatic fashion as the Kane team was behind Central Cambria's boys team 60-58 going into the final event of the evening… the 1600-meter relay.

Crusaders reach County tourney finals with win over Kane

ST. MARYS – The Elk County Catholic Crusader baseball team used a 14-hit attack to defeat the Kane Wolves 15-0 in three innings in the opening game of the Elk County Baseball Tournament being played at Berwind Park.
Elk Catholic will meet the St. Marys Area Flying Dutchmen for the championship today at noon while the Wolves will take on the Johnsonburg Rams in the consolation game at 10 a.m. today.

The Kane Wolves hosted the Johnsonburg Rams for a baseball game at Pat Santilli Field on Thursday afternoon. The Rams jumped out to an 8-0 lead after three innings and held off a Kane comeback to post a 12-6 win.

DCC takes doubleheader from Lady Wolves

The Kane softball team hosted DuBois Central Catholic for a doubleheader on Monday afternoon at Flickerwood Field. The Lady Wolves came into the game with a 1-0 record four weeks into the season due to postponements and cancelled games. Coach Judy Kessler’s squad was understandably rusty as they took the field against the Lady Cardinals on a windy, cold and sometimes rainy afternoon.

Kane girls drop dual meet to Oil City

The Kane girls’ track and field team turned in some good performances in Tuesday’s dual meet with Oil City despite the cold, windy conditions. The Oilers defeated the Lady Wolves 95-52.
Winning events for the Kane girls on Tuesday were junior Sydney Dyne in the 400-meter dash, Sami Bigley in the 200-meter dash, Caitlin O’Hara in the 300-meter hurdles, Trinity Clark in the javelin and Savannah Anderson in the pole vault.

Kane boys’ track team defeats Oil City

April 21, 2015

The Kane boys’ track and field team followed up their Class AA team title in the Kane Invitational with a win on Tuesday over Oil City. The Wolves defeated the Oilers 86-60 on a windy, cold afternoon at Paul R. Miller stadium.
Hunter Yasurek won the 400-meter dash, 800-meter run and ran a leg on the winning 1600-meter relay for the Wolves. Also taking first on the track for the Kane boys was senior Clayton Colson, who won the 1600-meter run and ran the leadoff leg of the 1600 relay.
