Lady Elkers sweep Lady Wolves

October 16, 2014

Ridgway volleyball made Senior Night a happy one as the Lady Elkers rallied in all three sets for a 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-20) victory over Kane.
"I'm so happy for them," Ridgway coach Janet Redmond said. "To come back, all three games we were down by a lot. That just shows the determination. We got the ball up so we could have an offense. They worked. It was nice to get all the seniors in. I'm really proud of them. I wish them all the best in their future plans. I'm just so happy for them. We needed that because we've been on a downslide a little bit."

October 13, 2014

Less than a month ago, the Kane boys’ soccer team made the trip to Port Allegany to take on a talented Gator squad and got beat soundly 9-0. Monday afternoon’s rematch in Kane proved just how much the Wolves have improved as they played with the Gators for all 80 minutes before dropping a 5-3 decision.
Both teams had scoring opportunities early but neither could cash in until the Gators’ Eli Knapp scored on a direct kick after a hand ball just outside the box. Knapp’s kick was just out of the reach of diving Kane goalie Tyler Schleicher with 18:44 left in the first half.
