Adventures of a wildlife photographer "Hidden Alaska"-part 12

December 4, 2012

Photo by Rocky Holland – The huge Alaskan Brown Bear secures yet another meal.

In part 11 of my Alaskan adventure series, I was in southwestern Alaska in Katmai National Park, just yards from seeing my first brown bears. The bear watching came to a quick halt as a fishing bald eagle put on show only feet from where I stood. Getting that close to a hunting bald eagle, and capturing a great image, made me forget for a moment why I came to this magnificent park, to see and photograph North America’s top predator, the Alaskan brown bear.
