Alice R. Caldwell

Alice R. Caldwell, 99, formerly of 19 Spring St., Kane, died Monday afternoon, March 12, 2012 at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born June 3, 1912 in Kane, she was the daughter of Edward J. and Beata Johnson Anderson. On Oct. 22, 1930 in Smethport, she married Smiley M. Caldwell, who died in 1984.
Mrs. Caldwell was a member of The Presbyterian Church and the Mountain Grange #1307, both in Kane, as well as the Kane Food Pantry, where she served as secretary. She was a member of the Queen Elizabeth Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Clarksburg, W.Va., since 1943.
Surviving are two daughters-in-law, Rosetta Caldwell of Fairmont, W.Va. and Janice Caldwell of Dixon, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, plus several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her husband and parents, by sons Smiley M. Caldwell III and Richard R. Caldwell, seven brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc., at which time a service will be held there with the rev. Rebecca Taylor, pastor of The Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Kane.
