Allen Walker

Allen T. "Tommy" Walker Sr., 84, of 14315 Wilcox Rd., Clermont, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born Jan. 2, 1928, in Emporium, he was a son of Thomas and Lillian Dalrymple Walker. On Sept. 11, 1947, in Girard, he married Dollie Finn who preceded him in death.
Mr. Walker was a self-employed mechanic, owned and operated Walker's Service Station in Clermont until 1980, and was employed by Charles McKeirnan Bus Service for 44 years transporting children in the Clermont area to the public school bus stops. Mr. Walker also played the guitar in the band at the Arlington Hotel in Kane for a number of years and was known to race American Motors stock cars at Bradford Speedway and Drum Speedway in Allentown, New York. He was also a World War II veteran.
Surviving are two sons, Allen "Butch" (Sandra) Walker Jr. of Clermont and Lyndon (Sheila) Walker of Crosby; three daughters, Patricia (James) Fowler of Wilcox, Darlene O'Connell of Bradford and Linda (Michael) Solida of DuBois; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Gene Walker and Jack Walker, both of Hazel Hurst, and Dick Walker and Bob Walker, both of Clermont; and a sister, Helen "Susie" Swanson of Kane.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a granddaughter, Ann M. Cobado.
Friends and family may attend a memorial service on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, 1 p.m. at the Hazel Hurst United Methodist Church with the Rev. W. Craig Smith, pastor, officiating. Memorial donations can be sent to the Clermont Cemetery Association, 12262 Wilcox Road, Wilcox, PA 15870.
