Anna M. Holquist, 81, of 126 Pine Ave., died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at Kane Community Hospital.
Born March 10, 1930, in Jane Lew, W. Va., she was a daughter of Horace Brannen and Ruby Susan Hall Foster.Â On Jan. 10, 1976, in Kane, she married Lawrence Holquist who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Holquist attended business college and worked in the office of Dr. Charles Bentz as an insurance billing secretary. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and belonged to the Eastern Star.
After retirement, Anna enjoyed wintering in Lakeland, Fla., reading, watching romance movies, shopping and having lunch with friends.Â She also enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.Â She loved bowling, golf, walking and the games, Dominoes and Skip-Bo.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah A. Kavala of Kane and Becky Jane Olson Cook of Bradford; two stepdaughters, Bonnie Hood of Girard, Ohio and Marcia Luniewski of Palmyra, Va.; grandchildren, Rachel Burton, Jesse Alan Olson and Joe Olson, all of Kane; step-grandchildren, Erin Fink of Cleveland, Ohio, Christopher Hood of Girard, Ohio, Michael and Miranda Luniewski of Palmyra, Va.; great-grandchildren, Melissa Burton, Sarah Stitt and Benjamin Olson, all of Kane, and Lila Grace Fink of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, James Foster of Postville, Iowa; her first husband, Franklin P. Schreiber; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Brownfield and Helen Clark-Stigers; and brothers, Ernest, Howard and Kenneth Foster.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. noon at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will follow at noon with the Rev. William R. Lavelle Jr., pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.
