Barbara Ann Bray

Barbara Ann Bray 81, formerly of 502 Walnut St., died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Sept. 11, 1929, in Kane, she was a daughter of Edwin and Dora Engman Hallberg. On May 29, 1949, in Kane, she married Harry N. Bray who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bray, a graduate of Kane High School Class of 1947, was also a member of the First United Methodist Church. Before her retirement, she had been employed as a clerk at the former Market Basket in Kane.
Surviving are four sons, Harry (Pam) Bray, Michael Bray and his companion Sally Ardabell, Edwin (Judy) Bray and Todd Bray, all of Kane; two daughters, Debbie (Kevin) Pierson of Warren and Cheryl (Anthony) Scuteri of Sheffield; nine grandchildren, Colette Johnson Bellotti, David Johnson, Barbara Johnson Warofka, Michelle Scuteri Grubbs, Pinkie Scuteri, Eric Bray, Kyle Bray, Ryan Bray and Dakota Bray;  eight great-grandchildren, Cait-Lynn Lyle, Lexie Grubbs, Lynzie Grubbs, Reed Grubbs, Kristin Bellotti, Kelsey Bellotti, Derrick Warofka and Aaron Warofka; a son-in-law, Robert Johnson of Kane; a sister-in-law, Ann Hallberg of Kane; and a stepbrother, James Christenson of Elizabeth.
In addition to her  husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Hallberg and  Dora Engman Hallberg Christenson; her daughter, Christine Bray Johnson; and her stepfather, Arthur Christenson.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. where a funeral service, with The Rev. W. Craig Smith officiating, will follow. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
