Basketball teams defeat Sheffield in hoops action

October 2, 2012

The Kane Middle School girls’ seventh- and eighth-grade basketball teams both won their games Monday afternoon in Sheffield. The seventh-grade team held on for a big win against the Wolverines, 27-22.
The young Lady Wolves struggled early in the game on both ends of the court, according to the coaches. Kennedy Detsch hit a free throw late in the game to send it into overtime. According to coach Kathy Counts, Trinity Clark put together another nice performance under the basket. Thirteen of her 19 points came in the fourth quarter or overtime. She also had 10 steals, four blocked shots and 11 rebounds.
"She has the capability to dominate on the court with her quickness, speed, and strength," Counts said.
