Ted Lutz The Battle of the Barrel is one of the most popular events at the 119th annual Central District Volunteer Fire Department (CDVFA) convention in Kane. Opposing teams of firemen squirt water Friday afternoon to advance an old beer keg linked to a cable strung on Wetmore Avenue. The team that moves the keg the furthest distance on the cable in a specific time is the winner.
