Be ready to welcome costumed children

Kane area children will be dressed in various costumes Monday as they go door-to-door during Halloween “Trick or Treat” hours.
According to borough and school officials, a Halloween parade will not be held in Kane for the first time in many years.
Halloween “Trick or Treat” hours in Kane, Wetmore Township, Hamlin Township and Highland Township are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Residents are asked to turn on their porch lights.
The Halloween parade in Mt. Jewett begins at 5 p.m. Monday. Costumed children will march from the Hamlin Bank office on East Main Street (Route 6) to the Mt. Jewett Fire Hall.
A costume contest will be held at the fire hall. The Mt. Jewett Rotary Club will award prizes.
“Trick or Treat” hours in Mt. Jewett are from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday.
In Hamilton Township (Ludlow), costumed children will be going door-to-door during “Trick or Treat” time from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday.
A costume contest is slated for 7 p.m. Monday at the Ludlow Volunteer Fire Department.
Parents are reminded to inspect candy and other items given out to their children on Halloween “Trick or Treat” times.
The Diagnostic Imaging Department at Kane Community Hospital will X-ray Halloween candy from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the hospital. Enter through the Emergency Room entrance, which faces Route 6.
