Betty M. Lindsey

Betty M. Lindsey, 81, of 604 Welsh St., Kane, died Saturday evening, July 23, 2011, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 2, 1929 in Bolivar, N.Y., she was the daughter of Bruce and Nive Daely Slater. On May 23, 1952, she married Harry J. Lindsey, who died in 1975.
Surviving are five daughters, Shirley Lodato of Michigan, Marilyn Thrush, Eve (Evelyn) Lindsey and Joyce Johnson, all of Bradford, and Josie Thomas of San Diego, Calif.; three sons, Harry Lindsey of Cheektowaga, N.Y., Doyle Lindsey of Avalon, Calif. and Bryce Lindsey of Fort Drum, N.Y.; brothers Bruce Slater of Mt. Jewett and Jim Church of Eldred; plus 25 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a daughter at birth; a sister, Marian Self; and brothers Richard and Marvin Slater.
A private viewing was held Friday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane. A public memorial service will be held at the First Church of God at a time and day to be announced.
