Louise Schmidt reached the 18-gallon milestone Monday when she donated blood at the American Red Cross Bloodmobile stop at the First United Methodist Church in Kane.
She has donated blood for many years.
A total of 27 full units of blood were collected during the six-hour Bloodmobile visit at the church's Barlett Hall. The goal was 28 units.
Judith M. Haight of Ludlow, the volunteer chairman of the blood drive, said 30 would-be donors showed up to give blood. However, three were rejected due to medical reasons.
Paul Huckabone of Kane was a first-time donor at the Bloodmobile stop.
The King's Daughters group from the First Baptist Church in Kane provided sandwich spreads.
