"The Butterfly Man" presentation

October 29, 2012

On Oct. 26, Mr. John MacRoy, also known as “The Butterfly Man,” presented his educational program at Kane Middle School. The program, which teaches students about natural history, science, geography, art, and environmental education, was done for the seventh grade Science classes taught by Ms. Jodell Barner. As part of this educational presentation, students viewed his unique slide show  and listened to a presentation from Mr. MacRoy. They also viewed his rare butterfly and insect collection that contains over 4,000 different species from all around the world. The program was generously sponsored by the KARCC. Pictured in the left photo are Darla Duvall, Sarah Cecchetti, Chloe Starner and Darryl Kring enjoying some of the displays. In the right photo is Wes Cleer and James Syzmanski.
