Carmella M. Tigani

Carmella M. Tigani, 95, of 7453 Highland Rd., died Saturday morning, April 16, 2011, at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born March 21, 1916, in Kane, she was a daughter of Giuseppe P. and Giuseppa Costanzo Russo. On Jan. 22, 1944, in Kane, she married Giuseppe (Joseph) Tigani who preceded her in death.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Tigani had been employed by Stackpole Carbon Company and had also worked at the Chestnut Street Elementary School cafeteria.
She was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church and belonged to the Kane Lodge #751 Sons of Italy.
Surviving are a son, Pasquale (Betty) Tigani of Kane; three grandchildren, Christina Walters, Mary (Steve) Tunall and Joseph (Sara) Tigani, all of Kane; and seven great-grandchildren, Amanda Tunall, Elizabeth Tunall, Sadie Tunall, Garrett Walters, Joseph Walters, Grace Tigani and Leah Tigani, all of Kane.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her husband and parents, by a brother, Pasquale Russo and a sister, Angeline Scutella.
Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and again on Wednesday morning at the gathering space at St. Callistus from 10-11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Callistus Cemetery.
