Clarence D. Clawson

Clarence D. Clawson, 79, formerly of Mt. Jewett, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 at Sena Kean Manor.
Born May 21, 1933, at Lantz Corners, he was a son of Burt and Hazel Swanson Clawson. On Jan. 26, 1953, in Johnsonburg, he married Luella May Disque who preceded him in death.
Mr. Clawson was on the Peer Project Board at Sena Kean Manor and worked for 19 years as a projectionist at the Kane Family Drive In.  He also was employed at Dresser's Manufacturing for 39 years and worked as a handyman and plumber for several years.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Orak, The Grotto and the Scottish Rite. He belonged to the Fraternal Order of Police and was a lifetime member of the Mt. Jewett VFD and the NRA. He also was a past member of the Mt. Jewett American Legion Post 574.
Surviving are a son, Robert Dwayne Clawson of Bradford; and a good friend, Mary Lou (Louie) Stidd of Mt. Jewett.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Luella May Clawson, and his parents. 
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Mt. Jewett, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. W. Craig Smith, pastor of the Mt. Jewtt/Hazel Hurst United Methodist Churches, officiating. Burial will be at Lebanon Lutheran Cemetery.
