'Concerned Citizens' continue to criticize Kane leaders

January 15, 2013

Photo by Ted Lutz – Jean Swanson of Kearney Street delivers seething remarks Monday at a meeting of the Kane Borough Council. A member of the "Concerned Citizens of Kane," she wonders why council ignores suggestions from residents as well as a petition to change the time of the monthly meetings.

A group known as the "Concerned Citizens of Kane" formed about a year ago after the borough council proposed a hefty property tax hike.
The tax increase was reduced, but dedicated members of the "citizens" group each month show up at council meetings to question spending and borough operations.
