SMETHPORT – County liquid fuel tax revenue will help Kane cover the cost of its summer street-paving project.
Acting at a meeting Tuesday, the McKean County Board of Commissioners allocated $7,562 in liquid fuel tax revenue to Kane.
The money will help Kane pay for the cost of paving sections of Chase, Welsh, Maple and Clay streets and Elk Avenue. IA Construction of Franklin paved the streets under a contract for $97,555.20, according to Kane borough office manager Lori Feldbauer.
State liquid fuel tax money also will be allocated to cover about half the remaining cost, Feldbauer said. Borough funds will cover the balance of about $45,000.
