Criminal cases filed in Kane District Court

January 9, 2012

The following criminal cases have been filed in Kane District Court.
Information on the cases is gleaned from official court documents.
*Randy Haight, 21, of 13 W. Main St., Ludlow, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Kane Borough Police Chief Brian Hillard filed the charges after Haight’s 2-year-old daughter allegedly wandered from his former residence along Poplar Street in Kane while Haight was asleep.
A female motorist told police that she nearly struck the child, who reportedly was in the “middle of the road” at Poplar Street and Tionesta Avenue.
Police entered the Haight residence and found “trash and garbage including dirty diapers tramped into the floor.”
According to court records, the house occupied by Haight was “unfit for any human or animal to reside or be in without protective clothing.”
Police located Haight, who allegedly was asleep in an upstairs bedroom. Police also found an infant in a child seat in the same room.
Police contacted the McKean County Child and Youth Services (CYS) agency.
According to court documents, Haight, his wife and both children moved to a relative’s house in Ludlow “due to the filth and lack of utilities” at the Poplar Street residence.
Haight has waived his preliminary hearing in district court.
*Randon Lee Moore, 48, of 217 Walnut St., Kane, is charged with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol.
