Curwensville gets first win of season against Kane
The Curwensville Golden Tide came into the Wolves Den with an 0-4 record. Kane wasn’t sure what to expect as the tide started all sophomores. Curwensville put three players in double figures and a fourth that finished with nine. It was a tight game throughout the first half. Two big desperation 3-pointers at the buzzer to end the first and second quarters proved to be shots that made the difference in the game.Tyler Laurie kept Kane in the first half with 11 points including three 3-pointers. Center A. J. Stefani also had a good game in the first half even without scoring as he had some big blocks and altered several other shots. The second half belonged to the other Tyler as Tyler Ennis came up big with 13 points as he started taking the ball to the hole and usually finished strong. Unfortunately for him he only made 3-of-8 from the free throw line in the second half. See full article by purchasing the Jan. 5 edition of The Kane Republican.
