David C. Bliss Jr.

David C. Bliss, Jr., 64, of 287 Spring St. in East Kane, died Thursday morning at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born Aug. 6, 1947 in Kane, he was the son of David and Thelma J. Neely Bliss. On Aug. 5, 1970 in Seoul, South Korea, he married Okye Young Kim, who died in 1992. Preceded in death by his stepfather, James L. Clark.
Mr. Bliss was a Sergeant 1st Class in the Army during the Vietnam War, giving 23 years of service.
He was a member of the VFW #1132 in Kane.
Surviving are his mother, Thelma Clark of Kane; two daughters, Kim Tennermann of Ramstein, Germany and Judy Cook of Layton, Utah; two brothers, Edward Bliss of Kane and Daniel Bliss in Colorado; two sisters, Sandra Brinkley of Kane and Linda Swanson of James City; a stepsister, Jackie Pribble of Perham, Maine, plus two granddaughters, Ainsley and Zoe Cook. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his wife, by his father.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with the rev. Chad Troup, pastor of The First Church of God in Kane, officiating.  Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery near Kane.
