Donald Chittester

Donald Chittester, 84, of 43 Brickyard Rd., passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Heinz V.A. Hospital in Aspinwall.
Born April 12, 1928, in Brandy Camp, he was a son of Oran and Nellie Daugherty Chittester.
Mr. Chittester had been employed as a truck driver for Kane Manufacturing and also  had been previously  employed as a driver for JB Hunt. In addition,he had taught truck driving at Dublin Tech College in Georgia and had worked for the California Forestry Service.
Don was the present Commander of King David VFW Post 1132 in Kane and had served in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Seabee.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna (Robert) Palmer of Hazel Hurst and Cindy (Hugh) Rockwell of Kane; four grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Norman Chittester of Kane; his former wife, Shirley Chittester; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter; three sons; five brothers; and  four sisters.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. David Pflieger, Chaplain of the Lutheran Home at Kane, officiating. Burial will be at Falls Creek Cemetery.
