Elizabeth ""Bette"" Freer

Elizabeth ""Bette"" Freer, 85, of Eldred, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 23, 1926, in Olean, N.Y., she was a daughter of Reginald and Irene Brandel Carey.
Betty was a 1943 graduate of Eldred high School and later graduated from Westbrook Academy in Olean. She was a lifetime resident of Eldred.
Mrs. Freer was employed as a secretary for the Glenn Mencer Law office in Eldred, later she worked in the public defender's office at the McKean County Courthouse. For many years, she worked at Bradford Pipe and Supply before retiring at age 81 as office manager.
She enjoyed playing cards, playing bingo and being with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Becki (Rob) Merry of Kane and Patti (Terry) Bell of Eldred; seven grandchildren, Melissa (David) Peterson, Michael (June) Merry, Matthew (Debby) Merry, Tara (Jeff) McDonald, Courtney (Tony) Brammer, Cory (Kristen) Bell and Carrie (Brett) Brooker; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Kay Soules, in 1953.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012, with Pastor Dan Mong officiating. Burial will be in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eldred Borough Fire Department.
