Elizabeth "Betty" Johnson

Elizabeth "Betty" Johnson, 82, a resident of The Lutheran Home at Kane, formerly of Lamont, died Monday afternoon, Sept. 19, 2011 at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born Feb. 27, 1929 in Lamont, she was the daughter of Anton and Susie Kozik Weritz. On June 18, 1946 in Kane, she married Charles Everett Johnson, who died in 1991.
Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church in Kane.
Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer J. (Robert) Maykowski of Ludlow; a son, Allen E. (Anita) Johnson of Lamont; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; plus many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband and parents, are a son, Kevin Johnson in 1981; five sisters, Amelia Chubon, Eva Udovich, Verna Johnson, Ann Matis and Mary Weritz; and five brothers, Frank, John, Steve and Pete Veritz and Paul Weritz.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc., and may attend a service at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Thursday with Father Philip Pinczewski, pastor of St. Callistus Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Callistus Cemetery.
