Firefighters discuss Kane emergency

Members of area fire departments gathered Wednesday evening at the Kane Fire Hall to review the response to the chemical truck emergency in Kane last week. The truck toppled on its side while making a 90-degree turn at Fraley and Greeves streets in Kane. The accident led to the largest evacuation ever in McKean County. Taking part in the meeting Wednesday are, left to right: Fred Maletto III, captain of the Wilcox Volunteer Fire Department; Harv Dowdle, deputy fire chief in Wilcox; Fred Maletto, fire chief in Wilcox; Tim Lehman, first assistant fire chief of the Kane Volunteer Fire Department; Tim Holt, fire chief in Kane; Andy O'Donnell, assistant chief of the Sheffield Volunteer Fire Department; William Dilley, fire chief in Sheffield; Dan "Beans" Gustafson, second assistant fire chief of the Mt. Jewett Volunteer Fire Department; and Ed Fisher, first assistant fire chief in Mt. Jewett. Chuck Hall, chief of the Ludlow Volunteer Fire Department, and Matt Asel, assistant chief in Ludlow, were among others to attend the meeting.
