A huge American flag is held from atop the raised 'tower' truck for the Kane Volunteer Fire Department. The flag set up Tuesday near the "point" area at Evergreen Park greeted the procession with the body of Staff Sgt. Kenneth VanGiesen of Kane. The American flag for the flagpole at Evergreen Park was not flown Tuesday because high winds in a storm Monday damaged the ropes for the flag.
