Frank A. Moore Sr.

Frank A. Moore Sr., 88, of 36 Narrow Ln., died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at Kane Community Hospital following a short illness.
Born Aug. 9, 1923, in Sheffield, he was a son of John and Anna Streick Moore. On Feb. 9, 1946, at St. Callistus Church in Kane, he married Elizabeth Koza who preceded him in death.
Mr. Moore was employed at Dresser Manufacturing in Bradford until his retirement in 1984. He belonged to the VFW Post 1132 in Kane.
During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the 18th Infantry, Company A. During his term of service, he received the Bronze Star Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, and a Purple Heart.
Surviving are a son, John (Pat) Moore of Kane; a daughter, Rosemary (Jim) Forquer of Kane; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Dorothy Kosinski of Warren; his special friend, Marcella Dalrymple of Warren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his wife and parents, by his son Frank Moore, Jr.; an infant daughter, Sandy Moore who died at birth; a grandson, John Moore Jr.; three sisters; and five brothers.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor of St. Callistus Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be at St. Callistus Cemetery.
