PORT ALLEGANY – The defending District 9 Class A and Allegheny Mountain League champion Port Allegany (2-0) continued their winning ways with a 46-13 rout Saturday over visiting Kane (1-1).
The Gators, led by senior Matt Bodamer, one of the state's prolific passers, finished with 218 yards through the air with three passing touchdowns. Bodamer also ran for two more scores and tallied 123 yards on the ground.
"Port Allegany has a great football team, very good on both sides of the ball and we knew that coming in," Kane head varsity football coach Todd Silfies said. "They definitely came out and performed from the start. I thought we played better in the second half obviously than we did in the first half but, overall, we were a little bit flat coming out and I think our game plan and execution could've been better.
"Right now, we have to move past it and concentrate on Otto-Eldred [on Friday]."
