Gladys E. “Rusty” Johnston

Gladys E. “Rusty” Johnston, 86, of 15 W. Willow St., Smethport, formerly of Mt. Jewett, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at Kane Community Hospital.
Born Jan. 24, 1925, in Ridgway, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Alta Van Order Moran. On Dec. 9, 1945, in Kane, she married Richard Johnston who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Johnston is survived by a daughter, Kathleen “Kittie” (Jim) McCormack of Mt. Jewett; two grandsons, Chris (Miriam) McCormack of Pittsburgh and Jay (Marcie Srun) McCormack of Moscow, Idaho; and five great-grandchildren, Wren, Jayne, Sunny, Claire and Kacey McCormack.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may attend a funeral service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Mt. Jewett with the Rev. W. Craig Smith, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Nebo Cemetery.
