'Hair Happenings' ribbon-cutting

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday at the "Hair Happenings" salon at 18 Greeves St. in Kane. The business is located in the space occupied for 20 years by "Hair's Nancy Place." Taking part in the ceremony sponsored by the Kane Chamber of Commerce are, left to right, front row: Karen Lyle, co-owner; Betty Shrubb, co-owner; Nancy Detrick, co-owner; Sue Holt, Chamber board member; and Denise Rawding, Chamber board member; back row: Jim Airgood, president of the Chamber; Jim Greville, Chamber board member; Melanie Clabaugh, executive director of the Kane Area Development Center, which includes the Chamber of Commerce; Jill Thompson, the Kane office manager for state Rep. Kathy Rapp (R-Warren); and Nadine Holt, Chamber board member. The three co-owners of "Hair Happenings" are long-time Kane hair stylists who worked together from 1986-92 at the former "Hair Happening" on Fraley Street. The new "Hair Happenings" salon is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Walk-ins are welcome.
