Howard L. Eshbaugh

Howard L. Eshbaugh, 92, formerly of Welsh Street in Kane, died Monday evening, Jan. 17, 2011 at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born July 24, 1918 in Kane, he was the son of Jerry J. and Bessie M. Ruckman Eshbaugh.  On Jan. 31, 1941 in Bradford, he married Opal E. Near, who survives.
After attending Kane area schools, he worked for Bowman Lumber Company, then later for Kane Handle, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kane, a Life Member of the F.O. Eagles, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving, in addition his wife, are a sister, Violet Clouser of Ridgway, plus several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by a daughter Carol Ann Peganoff; a sister and a brother.
Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, at which time a service will be held there with the rev. Paul Smith, interim pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Kane.
