Ignorance at recycling bins

Ignorant Kane borough residents continue to create a mess by dumping off their recyclables even when the collection bins are full. This recent photo shows that all six collection bins are overflowing at the recycling site at Glenwood Park on Hacker Street. Casella, which now operates the former McKean County landfill, is scheduled to empty the bins every Tuesday and Friday. Under the new “zero-sort” recycling program, Casella allows cardboard, paper, aluminum cans and plastic bottles to be deposited in any of the collection bins. The company, however, asks residents to refrain from depositing recyclables at the site if all bins are full.
