Ione E. Housler, 85, formerly of Lantz Corners, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012, at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born July 3, 1926, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Judith Carlson Olson. She was married to Charles M. Housler who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Housler had worked as a cashier at the former Market Basket and later was in charge of the Ben Franklin section of the store.
She was a member of the Mt. Jewett American Legion Post 574 auxiliary. Additionally, she was very active in the 4 H Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Vicki (Howard) Kelley of Waterford; two sons, Charles E. Housler and Ronald (Anita) Housler, all of Lantz Corners; two grandsons, Cody (Tiffany) Housler of Lancaster and James Conley III of Pittsburgh; a granddaughter, Nora Housler of Pittsburgh; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Rowen Housler; a sister, Virginia (Paul) Husack of Stuart, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and again from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Mt. Jewett where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Kanesholm.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
