Lions International District 14F Governor Jim Day addresses the Kane Lions Club during the club's Sept. 6 meeting. Jim Day, a retired elementary school teacher from Waterford, traveled to Kane to deliver the message of 2011 Lion's International President Wing-Kun Tam. Tam's theme for the year for all Lions is "Believe." Jim challenged the Kane members to Believe in Service, Believe in Club Members, Believe in Training Officers, Believe in Projecting our Image, and Believe in Giving Back. As a way to show real evidence for "Believe" was a challenge for each club to plant a tree. "Believe it can be done"-- each club is challenged to plant one tree in their community which will lead to a million trees planted by Lions worldwide. In conclusion, Governor Day asked members to ponder the three elements of Believe, which are Courage, Commitment and Action. The Governor was treated to a delicious spaghetti dinner created with the recipe of Jim Marconi prepared by the September cooking committee.
