Joseph J. “Arky” Caramboni

Joseph J. “Arky” Caramboni, 90, of 132 Lincoln St., Kane, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at his residence.
Born Oct. 11, 1921, in James City, he was a son of Nazzareno and Anna Fontanelli Caramboni. On June 29, 1946, at St. Callistus Catholic Church, he married Marion Dooher who preceded him in death.
A graduate of James City High School class of 1940, Arky was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church and also belonged to the Elks Lodge #329.
He was a lead man and foreman at Kane Screens, retiring in 1987.
Surviving are two sisters, Rose Orzetti of James City and Caroline Carson of Kane; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
Friends will be received today, Thursday, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the gathering space of St. Callistus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor, as celebrant.  Burial will be at St. Callistus Cemetery.
