Joyce B. Danielson

Joyce B. Danielson, 79, of 2 High Point Dr., formerly of Mt. Jewett, died Monday morning, Nov. 22, 2010, at Kane Community Hospital.
Born Dec. 5, 1930, in Kane, she was a daughter of Ernest and Margaret Starner Cunningham. On June 27, 1953, in Mt. Jewett, she married Dale Danielson who preceded her in death.
A graduate of Mt. Jewett High School Class of 1948 and Mansfield Teachers’ College in 1952, she was employed as a school teacher for 38 years in Wellsville, N.Y., Spring Mills, Centre Hall, Hazel Hurst, Kane and Smethport from which she retired.
As a very active member of the community, she had served at different times as president of the McKean County Child Services Advisory Board, the Mt. Jewett Alumni Association, Mt. Jewett Swedish Festival Committee, Mt. Jewett Legion Auxiliary and the Mt. Jewett Senior Center. She served for many years as the Senior and Junior Choir Director at St. Matthew’s Church and also had been a Girl Scout leader.
Surviving are two daughters, Daleen (Tom) Cecchetti of Kane and Jocelyn Raught of Peoria, Ariz.; two grandsons, Andrew Cecchetti and Jared Cecchetti; two granddaughters, Denae Raught and Tianna Raught, three great grandchildren, Celeste, Caleb and Caden; a brother, Ernest Cunningham of Pensacola, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband and parents, are two sons, Douglas Carlton Danielson and Collin Ernest Danielson and two sisters, Ruth Mae Cunningham and Leatrice Coyle.
Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Mt. Jewett today (Tuesday) from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church with The Rev. David Pflieger, chaplain of the Lutheran Home at Kane, and The Rev. W. Craig Smith, pastor of the United Methodist Church, co-officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. 
Memorial donations may be made to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Home at Kane.
