Kane area escapes brunt of ‘Hurricane Sandy’

Photo by Ted Lutz – Packing high winds, a storm once known as  “Hurricane Sandy” roared into the Kane area Monday evening and uprooted trees and downed power lines. This fallen tree is in a yard at Park Avenue and Chestnut Street in Kane.

“Hurricane Sandy” brought high winds and heavy rain to the Kane area Monday night.
For most, however, uprooted trees and power outages appeared to be the only damage and inconvenience caused by the Halloween-time hurricane nicknamed “Frankenstorm.”
