Kane boys’ golf team off to solid start

The 2012 Kane Boys’ Golf team surpassed last year’s win total on their opening day.
Head coach Nathan Smith’s squad defeated Smethport and Austin in their first match, and split their second match, defeating Port Allegany and losing to Ridgway. Smith, now in his 10th year as coach, has five golfers that earned letters last year returning this season. They are Ryan Greto, Dan Park, Austin Woolcock, Trace Gordon, and Austin Hoag.
Smith calls these five the “core of the team.” All of them spent many hours on the course over the summer and have improved over last year.
