Kane Day School visitors

October 12, 2012

Morning classes at the Kane Day School.
The Kane Day School classes were visited by several Kane Volunteer Firefighters. Asst. Chief Leo Geibel, with help from firefighters Zach Holt, Dale Cleer, Mike Detsch and Justin Menteer, spoke to the students about fire safety. Firefighter Dale Cleer demonstrated how to stop, drop and roll if the children's clothes should ever catch on fire. One firefighter dressed in full fire gear so the children would have some idea what they might see if a firefighter needed to enter their home. Then the children were escorted outside by Mrs. Heckman and Mrs. Watts to see the fire trucks. Asst. Chief Geibel showed the children the many tools and functions of the tools that are attached to the truck. The children were very excited to see both the firefighters and the truck. And they had very good questions for the firefighter teachers and children appreciate this visit and  look forward to it each year.
