Kane hosts Owls for home opener

September 5, 2012

Photo by Amy Geer – Kane's Jack Ball is all smiles as he competes in Tuesday's cross country meet with Bradford. The Wolves only fielded a few runners as they get ready for an invitational Saturday at Forest Hills High School. Ball completed the course in 20 minutes, 25 seconds.

On a muggy, soggy afternoon, the Wolves’ cross country teams dropped all contested races to the Bradford Owls in a 50-15 loss despite having quality showings from several veteran and new athletes.
In the middle school races, Kane would not be able to field full teams for the outing, resulting in 50-15 losses.
Colton Barr led the way for the wolves, finishing seventh place overall with a time of 11:11. Following Barr would be newcomers Ryan Harris and Kyle Pierotti respectively. Harris finished 10th while Pierotti finished in 21st. The lone girl middle school runner, Olivia Blackmore, finished in a PR tying 12:47 finishing 17th overall.
In varsity action, as in middles school races, both Kane teams failed to show up with five runners, resulting in 50-15 scores. Bradford showed their habitual strength by claiming the top two spots in the race with Aziz Yousef and Tyler Nuzzo running 17:59 and 19:13 respectively.
