Bill Nichols of Kane has successfully defended his title in the Corn Eating Contest at the annual Corn Festival in Youngsville. Nichols consumed 13 ears of corn in five minutes to win the corn-eating contest for the fifth straight year. The festival has been held for six years. As the winner, Nichols received a T-shirt and hat as the "Corn King." Nichols is recognized as one of the area's top eaters. In July, he won a hot dog-eating contest in Warren.
