Kane man is sentenced to jail

A Kane man has been sentenced to 15 days in the McKean County Jail following a non-jury trial Monday in Kane District Court.Judge Dave Engman handed down the sentence for William W. Leet, 36, of 308 Welsh St. after finding the defendant guilty of operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver’s license.According to court information, this is the fifth time Leet has been convicted of operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver’s license.In addition to the jail time, Leet has been ordered to pay $593 for a fine and court costs. The jail sentence is scheduled to begin May 23, according to the court.Kane Police Officer Heath Boyer, who arrested the defendant, testified at the trial.Pick up a copy of the Monday, April 17, 2012 edition of The Kane Republican for more.
