Kane man is sentenced to jail

A Kane man has been sentenced to 15 days in the McKean County Jail following a non-jury trial Monday in Kane District Court.
Judge Dave Engman handed down the sentence for William W. Leet, 36, of 308 Welsh St. after finding the defendant guilty of operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver’s license.
According to court information, this is the fifth time Leet has been convicted of operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver’s license.
In addition to the jail time, Leet has been ordered to pay $593 for a fine and court costs. The jail sentence is scheduled to begin May 23, according to the court.
Kane Police Officer Heath Boyer, who arrested the defendant, testified at the trial.
