Kenneth M. Chester

Kenneth M. Chester, age 87, of Edgewater, Fla., died in his home on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010. He was cared for in his failing health by his daughter, Doreen.
Born April 8, 1923 in Pittsburgh, Mr. Chester was the son of Bessie Chester of Sewickley and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked at Armco Steel Mill in Ambridge until his retirement in the 1980s when he moved with his wife, Dorothy to Edgewater. Mr. Chester was a lifetime member of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 701 in Ambridge, enjoyed going to flea markets and the ocean, NASCAR, hunting, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and riding motorcycles. Kenneth loved his family and spent his life devoted to taking care of children and grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Chester and his wife, Sandy, of Sewickley; a daughter, Doreen M. Edsall, of Edgewater; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy.
Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Chester's name to Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund, 533 N. Nova Rd., Suite 206, Ormond Beach, Fla. 32174, or a charity of one's choice.
