Registration for 2012-13 kindergarten classes at the Kane Elementary School is scheduled Thursday at the school.
To enter kindergarten in the next school year, children must turn 5 on or before Aug. 31.
Parents are asked to bring their child to registration in accordance with the following times on Thursday:
*Last names beginning A through Gâ3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
*Last names beginning H through Pâ4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
*Last names beginning R through Zâ5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
For registration, parents should bring the childâs birth certificate, a record of immunizations and social security number.
As part of the registration, parents will be given the opportunity to have their child fingerprinted by law enforcement personnel. The fingerprints will be placed in a child safety booklet for parents.
The tentative dates for kindergarten orientation for the next school year are Aug. 21 and Aug. 22. Parents will receive a notice of their orientation date and time.
The first day of kindergarten for the 2012-13 school year is set for Aug. 28.
Parents and relatives of incoming kindergarten students took part in the âKindergarten, Here We Come!â program held last week at the school.
Elementary School Principal Linda Lorenzo conducted the program along with kindergarten teachers Josie Feikls, Jacklyn Pusateri, Mary Tunall, Lisa Lorenzo and Janine Smith.
Other school district personnel also participated in the program in the multi-purpose room at the elementary school.
