Lady Wolves drop close game to Port

October 1, 2012

Photo by Amy Geer – Kane's Kelsey Johnson, on the left, looks to take the ball from a Port Allegany player during Monday's game. Johnson scored a goal for the Lady Wolves but it wasn't enough as the Lady Gators won 3-2 in Kane's first game in two weeks.

The Kane Lady Wolves soccer team played their first game in two weeks on Monday when they hosted the Port Allegany Lady Gators.
It was against the Gators on Sept. 15 that Coach Allie Saquin’s team lost two starters, Nerissa Rich and Shannon Todd to injury, leaving the team with only 10 healthy players. Saquin’s team lost two more players in Kane’s next game against St. Marys on Sept. 17, forcing the postponement of four games. With Rich and leading scorer Dawn Saquin back in the lineup, and the addition of four new players, the Lady Wolves returned to the field, looking to avenge the overtime loss to the Lady Gators in Port Allegany.
