Linnea Swanson Johnson

Linnea Swanson Johnson, 97, passed into the next life at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, in Warren General Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born April 4, 1915 in Ludlow to the late Oscar Frederick and Alfreda Linnea Bjorkman Swanson.
A 1933 graduate of Ludlow High School and a 1941 graduate of Warren Huff Business College, Linnea lived most of her life in Ludlow before moving to Warren in 2002. While in Ludlow, she was a member of Ludlow American Legion #489; Wildcat Park Auxillary; AARP – Kane and Ludlow; and Warren Dessert Club. As a member of Moriah Lutheran Church, she served as a Sunday School teacher, Church Council, was a member of Moriah Church Women, and volunteered at Kane Lutheran Home.
Linnea enjoyed reading, gardening, jigsaw and crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Linnea was preceded in death by her husband Kermit Edgar Johnson whom she married Aug. 10, 1963 in Ludlow; three brothers, Leslie, Milton, and Gerald Swanson; and one sister, Evelyn Swanson Griffin.
She is survived by three nephews, three nieces, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral and committal service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012, at Moriah Lutheran Church, Ludlow with Rev. Donald Costlow, pastor, officiating. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Moriah Lutheran Cemetery.
The Borden-Lloyd Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
