Local dog recovering from illness linked to tainted treats

Tinker, a six-year-old female Pomeranian owned by Dennis and Rose Heindl of Ridgway, is recovering from Fanconi syndrome, a kidney disease, likely caused by the consumption of chicken jerky dog treats imported from China.

Even though it's a new year, some things remain unchanged. Despite testimonials that some chicken jerky dog treats imported from China have caused serious illness and even death, they still remain on store shelves.
